Barcelona will upgrade the existing contract with Yamal and the team has already held talks to retain him until 2030 when he turns 18 next July.
As a right winger both for Barcelona and Spain national team, Yamel has shown his proficiency across different parameters on the field. As a result he has become one of the most valuable youngsters a club can have in their arsenal. At such a young age Yamel has broken several records.
PSG have had its eye on Yamal for quite a while. Realizing Yamal’s potential, PSG was willing to go above and beyond. There are wild speculations about PSG offering a record breaking deal of €250 million to the youngster that would break the previous record of €222 million.
Even though PSG was willing to offer such a deal, serious talks never took place for that to materialize. The reason might possibly be that Barcelona intends to keep the youngster under their wing just as they did with Messi.
PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos answered about Yamal – “To say that Yamal is not a great player would be a huge mistake on my part, he is an excellent footballer and I am very happy to see him playing at his level. But PSG are very happy with the players they have in these positions.”
Through his statement Campos had debunked if PSG was actively looking into Yamal. Consequently Yamal is looking at a significant pay raise with the upcoming new deal that Barcelona intends to make with him as well as a notable refinement of the existing deal.
