The PGA Champion Tour returns on 6th September with the Ascension Charity Classic with a lineup of seasoned golf professionals. Here we will get to know about the details pertaining to the tour as well as the payout and prize money of the tour.
The Field & the Pros Taking Part in the Swing
Taking place at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri, the Ascension Charity Classic will feature 78 professional golfers that are part of PGA Champion Tour. The famous golf course has hosted tournaments since 1920 which is famous for its youth golf program. As the tournament continues from 6th September until the 8th, the golfers will take part in a 54-hole stroke game.
Steve Flesch won the title of champion last year through a fascinating comeback that saw him making records on the course. During the third round Flesch scored 62 for the low 18-hole and 194 in total for the low 54-hole score, securing his first win last season. He is back on the course this season and the audience is looking forward to his exhilarating plays.
17 times PGA Tour Champions, Steve Stricker who currently holds the champion title of the Charles Schwab Cup is a strong contender for the tournament. Besides his impressive wins he has also finished nine times in the top ten this season. There is also Jay Haas who holds a considerable amount of Champions Tour titles amounting to 18 wins.
The tournament will be live on Golf Channel of NBC Sports. One can tune in for the tournament from 3pm ET and the tournament will continue till 6pm.

Ascension Charity Classic 2024 Purse and Payouts:
The prize money is set to $2.1 million for the 2024 Ascension Charity Classic which is a $100,000 increase from the last year’s prize pool as it was $2 million in 2023. For the champion the prize money is set to $315,000 last year Flesch bagged $300,000 for his champion title. So we can notice a $15,000 increase for the title winner.
