The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 started on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies. This is the first time that the USA is hosting an ICC World Cup. The home team played amazingly on the group stage, securing their place for the first time in the Super 8 of the event.
This year, ICC will be giving record-breaking prize money, a total of $11.25 million will be given to the top teams. This is the highest amount of prize money that ICC has offered so far, surpassing the $10 million from last year’s Cricket World Cup 2023
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said, “This event is historic in so many ways, so it is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that.”
ICC has disclosed the prize money of the individual positions on their official website. The winner of the tournament will receive a payout of $2.45 million. This is also higher than the last edition. The 2022 T20 World Cup winner England received $1.6 million after winning the tournament.

- Semi-Finalists: $787,500 each
- Second Round: $382,500 each
- 9th- 12th: $247,500 each
- 13th-20th: $225,000 each
This year, the prize money has almost doubled than the last edition. In 2022, the total prize money for the ICC Men’s t20 World Cup 2022 was $5.6 million. The winner received $1.6 Million and the runners-up got $800,000. The prize money was the same in the 2021 and 2016 T20 World Cup. In the first edition of the t20 world cup in 2017, India was the winner, a nd they received $1.2 million in the winner’s share.
